Hotel Ukraina

Hotel Ukraina has long been poised for renovation. One of "Stalin's Seven Sisters," the 1950's hotel was built out of Communist ideology. Now? The structure may still look formidible, but it seems that it is going the way of many Soviet-era monuments--that is to say, its commercial draw is based on curiosity about Soviet Russia's former power. Or, at least, the illusion of power its dictators so fiercely tried to uphold.
