Borshch--It's Better in Russia!

Monday November 28, 2005
Borshch really isn't as strange as it might seem. Although I've found it isn't so easy to make--at least the recipe I was using! Borshch is really one of the treasures of Russian cuisine, served hot in the winter and cold in the summer. It's hearty and light at the same time, and great with chunks of dark bread and fresh sour cream. If nothing else could take me back to Russia, it would be the borshch. Or maybe blini, or the caviar . . . So the food is just one good thing about visiting Russia. Your next trip to Eastern Europe should include a trip to a nice traditional Russian restaurant. Don't know what to order? Check out this article, Dining Out: Russian Traditional Foods to learn more about blini and other dishes.
