Flooding in Eastern and Central Europe
Wednesday April 5, 2006
Excessive flooding in Eastern and Central Europe is certainly cause for alarm in the countries hit by rising waters. Hungarian officials suspect that water levels could rise past those measured in 2002. Slovakia has found it necessary to evacuate citizens, and the Czech Republic hopes that conditions have stabalized, but the worst may not be over yet.

It’s amazing that floods of this magnitude can devastate so much of Eastern Europe and yet receive so little attention in the mainstream US press! Thank you for keeping us informed!
