Gay Rights in Eastern Europe
Saturday October 27, 2007
Another gay rights event was banned in Eastern Europe this week - this time in Vilnius. Unfortunately, it has become common practice for city officials to shut down shop on gay rights promoters or activists, either with unabashed displays of bigotry or under the pretence of protecting public safety. If you plan to travel to Eastern Europe and attend one of these events, be aware that they are looked upon unfavorably by the majority of Eastern European citizens. This means that event-goers may put themselves in the path of danger . . . and in many cases, authorities may not do all they can to stop violent acts against attendees.

We should ALL ask EU what is doing about the human rights and the gay and lesbian issues in Eastern & Southern Europe!!!
