Remains of Nicolaus Copernicus in Poland

Friday November 21, 2008
Researchers say they have positively identified Nicolaus Copernicus' skeleton, buried in northern Poland and excavated three years ago. Sites where the famous 16th century astronomer worked have become attractive to visitors. Frombork Cathedral, in Frombork, Poland, was Nicolaus Copernicus' place of burial and is now a tourist destination. Other sites associated with Nicolaus Copernicus in Poland include Torun and Olsztyn. A statue to Copernicus can be seen in Warsaw along the Royal Route.
