Registration Now Open for the Caucasian Challenge 2009

Tuesday November 25, 2008
If you missed last year's Caucasian Challenge, you have another chance to experience the thrill of this minimal-assistance motor ralley. The journey takes teams through Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia and ends in Yerevan.

The organizers of the Caucasian Challenge are quick to warn you that easily serviceable vehicles are best used, the roads may be rough, and luck and skill may be necessary to reach the finish line "in one piece." However, along the way, you'll see locales not visited by tourists, view untouched countrysides, meet new people, and learn something about your levels of endurance and ingenuity.

For more information about the Caucasian Challenge, or to register, visit its website. The Challenge doesn't take place until the fall, but you'll need the months between now and then to apply for passports and any other necessary documents, secure the use of a vehicle, and get your team together. For inspiration, meet the teams from last year's Caucasian Challenge.
