Christmas Photos of Eastern Europe

Saturday December 27, 2008
When you view Christmas photos from Eastern Europe, you'll probably notice that the decorations are low-key compared to Christmas decorations in the U.S. The commercialization of Christmas has been slow to reach Eastern Europe (though citizens in larger cities may express their recognition of the lights-galore trend), and Christmas is still celebrated less with presents and light displays than with traditions and family gatherings. Christmas trees may grace town squares, and city centers will welcome customers to annual Christmas markets that offer holiday foods and handmade ornaments. Christmas in Eastern Europe is a special event, though many areas of Eastern Europe consider Easter to be the most important holiday of the year.
