Poll Results - Where Would You like to Travel in 2009?

Sunday January 4, 2009
In last week's poll, you were able to choose your most desirable Eastern European destination for 2009. As of Sunday, January 4, most readers said they wanted to travel to Prague, while Budapest and Moscow or St. Petersburg tied for second place.

Prague travel remains popular, beating out even up-and-coming destinations like Krakow and Ljubljana. Prague is one of East Central Europe's most beautiful, most romantic, and sexiest cities. If you want it, Prague has it, whether that "it" is shopping, dining, nightlife, art, culture, history, or something else entirely.

Moscow and St. Petersburg are two of Russia's most popular cities, and they represent different sides to Russia. Moscow has always been Russia's beating heart, while St. Petersburg maintains the European feel intended by its founder, Peter the Great.

Budapest, Hungary can be easily reached from other European countries, making it a convenient stopover for travelers. Budapest is famous for its hot springs, and a huge thermal lake has been discovered under the city.
