Serbians Snowed In and Freezing

Thursday January 8, 2009
Eastern Europeans are no strangers to harsh winter weather. Belgrade is currently struggling to keep its roads clean, since heavy snowfall has caused traffic james and accidents.

Meanwhile, those affected by Russia's gas shut-off, including Serbians, can look forward to resumed service from Russia's Gazprom. Russia's tiff with Ukraine has meant many homes across Europe have had to deal with decreased ability to heat their homes. Other countries that have typically relied upon Russian gas supplies include Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Austria.
