The 3-day September Nations Fair on Gediminas Prospect in Vilnius wraps up today. The fair is an opportunity for different cultures to represent their traditional foods and handicrafts. Visitors to the Nations Fair can choose from fresh-picked seasonal produce, such as currants, mushrooms, and raspberries to take home with them, or they can munch on roasted meats and stuffed peppers from vendors cooking food in the open air. Knitted scarves, leather goods, woolen slippers, linen garments, wooden toys, and jewelry can also be purchased at the fair. Of course, Lithuania is well-represented in the offerings. The Nations Fair is a wonderful opportunity to pick up a special souvenir or gift . . . or simply enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of this popular street festival. It's only one reason to visit Vilnius!
This Nations Fair also included performances by traditional musicians from Gdansk, Poland.
