Gediminas Castle Tower is a main feature of Old Town Vilnius and a symbol of Lithuania. Though the tower is a reconstruction, it was on this location that Grand Duke Gediminas built his wooden fort, which was later strengthened with bricks. The Upper Castle overlooked the Lower Castle and its churches and defensive structures. Ascend the tower to see miles into the distance and imagine Vilnius as it must have looked in Gediminas' time.
