Every destination city has its quirks, and you may be wondering what to expect when you visit Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. Vilnius is like other cities in the region in that restaurant service tends to be slow, good walking shoes are a must for uneven pavement, and interesting sights in Old Town make for a good introduction to the history of the city. When you're in Vilnius, however, you should also know that free events are frequent, traditional food is delicious and accessible, and amber and linen are two of the best souvenirs you can take home.
