Lithuania uses the lita as its official currency. Before you travel, you may not be able to get Lithuanian banknotes to take with you. However, once you are able to change money at the airport or in town, you'll realize that Vilnius tends to be affordable for Western travelers, especially if you know what to expect and what is expected of you.
