The Bosnian region is the northern region of the country, while the Herzegovinian region is the region to the south. The country's name is sometimes abbreviated as BiH. Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital city is Sarajevo.

Bosnia and Herzegovina are located on the Balkan Peninsula of Southeastern Europe. Bosnia and Herzegovina is bordered by Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro. A small strip of land lies on the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
