Five Wells Square, Zadar

Five Wells Square, or Trg Pet Bunara, is an interesting landmark in Zadar. Its five wells are lined up neatly on a clean slab of stone, and it is possible to imagine residents from past centuries using the wells on a daily basis to draw water. On one corner of the square is the Captain's Tower, a remnant of the city's defense system. Ascend the steps behind the square, and enter the oldest public park in Croatia, which is named after Queen Jelena Madijevka.
