Medieval Torture Devices on Display:

The Prague Torture Museum is not for the faint-of-heart. This Prague museum contains over 60 devices of torture used in the Middle Ages from all over Europe (not only the Czech Republic). Each one is described in Czech, English, and other languages. Other information boards tell about torture in general, especially about witch hunts in the Middle Ages.

Torture Instruments in the Museum:

Some instruments you may encounter are chastity belts (both male and female versions), iron maidens, and saws meant to separate bodies in half - lengthwise.

Prague Torture Museum is Easy to Work Into an Afternoon:

The Torture Museum, because it is small, will only take between half and hour and 45 minutes to tour. However, nearby is the Museum of Creepy Crawlies, and you may buy tickets for one or both of these museums.

Location of the Torture Museum and Hours of Operation:

You'll find the Torture Museum between Charles Bridge and Old Town Square. If you're in that area, most people will be able to point you in the direction you should go.
