Frydlant Castle is a hulking, ancient complex that comprises a 13th century castle and a chateau built a few centuries later. Though the castle was owned by various families over the course of its history, the castle's construction evolved into a unified, visually pleasing structure, including tower and exterior sgraffito work, that dominates the surrounding countryside.
Frydlant Castle is open from April to October, every day except Monday. Tours last about an hour. Visitors can see exhibitions about the castle and a picture gallery. They can also tour the castle grounds, which includes picturesque parkland.
