Budapest is located in the north-central territory of Hungary on the Danube River. Budapest is the combination of Buda and Pest, each which reside on either side of the Danube.

Budapest Climate and Weather:

The best months to travel to Budapest are May through September. These months are the warmest. Though very hot weather is not guaranteed, Budapest does have relatively high humidity. In December, January, and February, Budapest sees the coldest weather. Snowfal, however, is not as heavy as in other parts of Eastern Europe.

Public transportation is plentiful in Budapest. Buses, trams, trolleybuses, and a metro system maintain services in the city. Travelers may also use the rail service for within Hungary and for travel outside of the country. Seasonal ferries take passengers from Budapest to Vienna.

Besides Budapest's historical buildings, museums, and religious architecture, visitors to Budapest can visit one of the city's famous thermal baths, see Bauhaus architecture, or take a trip to the theater.
