Re-Opening of Cosmonaut Museum:
The Cosmonaut Museum, or Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics (also known by the name of "Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics") reopened on April 12, 2009 after having been closed for renovations. Dedicated to Russia's aerospace achievements and traditions, the Cosmonauts Museum is a great place for children.
New Cosmonaut Museum:
The new Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics is bigger (8,000 square meters) and more interactive than the old museum. The exhibits include a life-size model of the space station Mir, flight simulators, and a map that tracks the location of the International Space Station.
Cosmonaut Museum's Services and Grounds:
The Cosmonaut Museum also has a shop and cafe. Th ground surrounding the museum is home to monuments and memorials to Russia's space-pioneering heroes. The Alley of Space Pioneers features "Walk of Fame"-like styling with granite stars commemorating Russian space advancements.
