Slovakia Castles in Photos

Bratislava Castle is Slovakia's most recognizable castle and occupies a hill overlooking the old town. Restoration of this castle began in the 1950s, but was incomplete. Today, parts of the castle are used for gallery space of the Slovak National Museum, and a more robust restoration project has begun in the last few years.

The castle's four towers cap each corner of its layout. The largest tower once held the Hungarian crown jewels.
