Hotel Rialto, Warsaw

About.com Rating 3.5

By Kerry Kubilius, About.com

This swanky, upscale hotel in Warsaw is a treat for the traveler who doesn't mind spending $200 USD per night--or more.

Interior

The Hotel Rialto has to be given kudos for interior design. Each of the 44 rooms is uniquely decorated to reflect Art Deco style in the most authentic way possible. Original furniture from 1900 to 1930 can be found in the hotel accompanied by accurate replicas. The rooms have been carefully designed with a particular style in mind--for example, room 27 captures jazzy 1920's New York in black-and-white geometric patterns.

Restaurant

The restaurant, overseen by a Swiss master chef, leaves nothing to be desired, either in setting or in cuisine. Carrying out the Art Deco theme, the restaurant is lit for mood and the shiny bar invites you to pull up a cushioned stool.

The menu offers both Polish and European dishes. Lots of fish, hearty soup, and other delicacies of Eastern Europe--such as buckwheat blini, caviar, and Baltic salmon.

Pricing and Contact

Again, this hotel is a little pricey for the casual traveler, but will be a delight to anyone who doesn't mind paying the price for new rooms (the hotel was built in 2001) and careful consideration for aesthetics. Expect to pay between $150 and $200+ USD for a night's stay at the Rialto.
