Romance in Poland

Poland Can Be A Romantic Getaway for Two!

By Kerry Kubilius, About.com

Poland is romantic enough, with its historical heritage and picture-perfect scenery. But with the right planning, accomodations, and restaurants, you can make sparks fly!

If you're considering Warsaw as your destination city, you've made a good choice for romance. The classy Art Deco Hotel Rialto is decorated with authentic furniture from the period and has a sleek bar where you can take the edge off your jet lag. Cozy up in one of the hotel's uniquely decorated 44 rooms so you can rest up before strolling through Warsaw's beautiful Old Town.

In the evening, Restaurant Sekret will create the perfect atmosphere with low lighting and tromp l'oeil murals. Snuggle down into the cushioned benches and whisper to your sweety by candlelight over a glass of wine and a dish of duck or lamb.

For the weekend, rent a car and drive two hours to Kazimierz Dolny, where you can spend your time relaxing at a spa or picking out a special souvenir from one of the many artists who reside in this historic town. You can stay a night or two in Kazimierz at the Dom Architekta (Rynek 20, tel. 081 881 05 44), which is close to the Market Square.

There is a lot to see in Poland, and if you take your time, it can be as romantic and relaxing as you want it to be!
