Dluga Street, or Long Street, is the tourist center of Main Town Gdansk, which arguably contains more sights than Old Town. Long street acts as the main square does in many other Polish cities - it is a historic center, a gathering place, and a great place to take photos.

Exploring Long Street will take visitors along the Royal Route.The Gateway to Long Street is the second gate (after the High Gate) on Gdansk's Royal Route. This structure once held a prison and the city's gallows. However, the rest of Long Street is hardly as grim, so continue on until you see the pale and towering Golden Gate, which will lead you directly onto Long Street.
