Victory Day is a Russian holiday celebrating the end of WWII and Russia's victory in that war. Victory Day falls on May 9th each year and is celebrated with parades, fireworks, and military displays.
Victory Day Celebrations:
Victory Day's most celebrated event is the military parade held on Red Square. This display of might and order is accompanied by military plane flyovers. Military equipment, like missile systems and tanks, are also put on show. On the 65th anniversary of the end of WWII - Victory Day, 2010 - foreign forced joined military forces to recognize allied help in Europe.
Fireworks, the sprucing up of military memorials, special museum displays, news broadcasts, and more make up Victory Day celebrations in addition to the parade.
