Samovar Photos

This samovar, decorated with the traditional Russian folk motif of the firebird, is pictured with a matching teapot. The teapot sits on top of the samovar and contains concentrated tea. The body of the samovar contains the hot water, which in turn keeps the teapot warm. When the tea drinker wants a cup of tea, he or she pours a small amount of tea into a cup from the teapot and then fills the rest of the cup with hot water from the samovar spigot.
