Sochi's train station dates from the 1950s and embodies Stalinist-era architecture. Despite associations with other Stalinist architecture, the Sochi train station is pleasing to the eye and its lightness of design suits its location in this resort city.

Sochi can be reached by train from Moscow (about 30 hours) and many other Russian cities. Rumors have circulated about the construction of a high speed train with service from Moscow to Sochi in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Whether or not a high speed train is built from Moscow to Sochi, flights from Moscow reach Sochi in about 2.5 hours. Visitors to Russia who want to travel to Sochi have options for getting to this resort city.
