What is your souvenir?

I am not a great souvenir collector.

However, I collect things that will be used regularly.

Therefore, a rubber Bran Castle keyring fob is a useful additive to my keyring.

Most of my time I wear t-shirts, so a lovely Sighisoara emblem on a t-shirt is an addition to my wardrobe.

But also, I am a typical Englishman who is addicted to tea. So, a large mug with a slightly different Sighisoara emblem was an ideal choice. The mug is used constantly!

I also bought a traditional blouse for my Romanian girlfriend. Unfortunately, I never saw her wearing it. She promised to send me a photo. However, she always looks pretty.

Where did you get your souvenir?

The keyring fob came from Bran Castle.

The traditional blouse came from the Bran Castle market.

My Romanian girlfriend Laura promised me a photo of her wearing the blouse. N.B. I promise that the blouse was not the main present I gave Laura for her birthday! It was more of an amusing extra. She loved it.

My t-shirt and mug came from a shop in Sighisoara.

Finally, I have to admit I brought some cans of "Ursus Black" beer back to England. It is a far better taste than the lager, lager or lager... which most European countries are flooded with!

Advice

  • I always suggest that souvenirs should be regularly used or something that is attractive to see.
  • For example, perhaps a painting of Bran Castle or any other of the many tourist sights to brighten a wall.
  • Or a keyring fob that reminds you daily of your enjoyable holiday.
  • If you are a family, then perhaps some attractive pictorial place mats for when you eat at the table.
  • However, beware souvenir shops adjacent to the tourist sights. If you look around, you can often find the souvenirs cheaper from somewhere a few miles away.
